ok so an updated summary from the 3 replies so far ( i think we are now all close to being on the same page)

..

Q6 DRAFT Times/Dates/Polls

Unless Gary/Jared are any different, looks like we are waiting on posting the "draft time polls".

If the suggested draft dates are to be held between Aug 15 - Sep 20, can I suggest Polls are posted on Sat Aug 1st and open for 3 days. On the Aug 4th we collate the data, with the plan of releasing the times ready for sale by Aug 5th?

Q7 - PRIZES (12 spots @$30 gives up $360 to spend)

        *    League winner = Custom EFL Mini Helmet ($40) + Jersey ($150) - Total $190
        *    Div Winners (x3) = $30 worth of card packets each (product to be determined) - Total  $90
        *    Last in league = Toilet trophy - $20
        *    Eaglefin Bowl - $30 donation from each league - Total $30
        *    Postage $30

              Total League cost $360

Q8- Playoff Structure

Having re-read, I too am happy with option #2. Again unless Gary/Jared are totally against that model I think we can lock that in too.

OTHER

I am much more confident that every else in filling 4 leagues, however when we do roll out sales perhaps we advertise two leagues first, if they sell out then roll out leagues 3 & 4 one at a time dependant on demand?

Also see attached a draft of a "customer facing" rule sheet without all of our internal notes included.

Q 6, the later the better because we do not know what is going to happen right now.

Q7. we should have it chosen what the prizes are.
I like the jersey idea better myself for a SB champ. plus a mini helmet trophy.
I also like the Idea of a pack of cards from a nice box of cards like a $30 pack.
Toilet bowl trophy would be nice also.

Q8. We could do a consolation Champions prize, maybe get a blaster box with 8 packs and give the winners 2 packs each. cost should be about $20 for box plus $3 shipping each so $32 total. just throwing that out there.

Q9 playoffs, 6 teams would be better to get more people involved and keep people into it. 2 divisions winners if we go that route and the next 4 best records. Highest scoring team should be in the top half of the league if not the are the unluckiest person ever.

Q10 I like the idea of an overall Eaglfin superbowl champion with all 4 league winners going for an overall champion. But if we do that i think it should be on week 16. So playoffs for leagues would be week 13,14,15. To many good players get sat on week 17. We would probably have to do hand scoring that week. One of us could do it and have someone proof read the results and double check the scoring before posting.

I also feel we should be ready for less than 48 people but do not go over that even if we have another 12,24,48 people who want in. 4 Leagues max but be ready if we only have 2 or 3.

My responses:

Q1 - poll later. Too early. Too many only causes confusion. Poll later.

Q2 - Trophy for winner, box of cards for division winners and total score winner, maybe hanger type box of cards for wild card and second top scorer. Toilet Trophy at least for the loser - personally a funny video would be fun!!

Q3 - no consolation rounds. Only playoffs

Q4 - playoffs - I’m good with either #2 or #3b. I think 7 out of 12 teams is a lot, but for beginners it may be neat. Although there are people that start to wane near the end.

Q5 - EagleFin SuperBowl would be cool. Each league would pitch in like $30 or so for prizes, something like $50, $25, $15 Break credit with Gary.

I think Four helmets only. One for each league winner. That’s it. It needs to be special unique, like the Trophy. Only one per league.

I think when we are ready for signups, early August, we can announce the prizes.
I think when we poll the end of July, we announce that the expressed interest would create four separate leagues, with four separate draft dates.

That picture is incorrect, as I discussed 7 teams, so only one would have a bye week. With 7 teams in the playoffs, that would allow 3 divisions.
One winner of each division, two wild cards with the best W/L ratio from any of the three, and the top two total points winner from any division.

First of all, fantastic work Melissa, thankyou...

For me..

Q6 - I like those dates..... I would like to run the poll now and just get a feel for it and see what the trend says... we would still have the final say on the dates/times, the poll is just a guide

Q7 - Mini Helmet (Custom EFL) I love.... Lesser Prizes for Conference winners I like... Loser prize and punishment I like.... Personally i'd like to go with the following:

                *     Super Bowl Champs ..  A choice of Either 1 x Jersey (valued at $150), or, 1 x Foorball, + A custom EFL mini Helmet ($40) - Total Cost $190
                *     Conferences Winners ..  A choice of either a conference winner custom mini helmet, or, another prize (TBD) of same value (approx $40 x 2 winners) - Total Cost $80
                *     Loser Award.... Item TBD... (Approx $20 x 2 winners - 1 per conf) Total Cost $40

              Total Costs $310... (Buys in at $30 = $360 Revenue)... Last $50 of Shipping/other Prizes

                *     Eaglefin Bowl.... Unique EFL Custom mini ($40) using $10 from each of the 4 leagues to cover the coast.. (leaving $40 per league for other prizes/shipping)

Q8 - I like Champions as above... Consolation playoffs but with no prizes

Q9 - See picture below... i think this is great... half the teams make playoffs... top seeds get a week off, 3 weeks of games.... i would fight for this most out of any of the questions so far. The only thing i dont know is .. Can that system take the top 3 form 1 Conference and the top 3 from another conference or if there has to be no conferences to run this playoff system

Q10 - I like the idea of an overall champion with the 4 league winners competing.... The :EAGLEFIN BOWL"

I dont think we are ahead of ourselves... we dont post it, it will never be anything more than "expressions of Interest". I've been quite clear on the FB page and my latest video that we are aiming for 4 leagues but that is on a supply & demand provision... We cannot answer that question until we post spots for sale...

Questions

Target Draft Date —> August 15 - September 7
Q: Does everyone agree on this?
We will need to poll individuals for draft availability. Thoughts on whether to poll now and creating the leagues OR wait to poll until late July (let’s say) and then publish the leagues and draft dates in early August?

Q: TRADITIONS!!! Fun!!!
~ Trophy for winner? (mini helmet type trophy??)
~ Lesser prizes for division winners and total point winners?
~ Toilet Trophy? Punishments??

Q: championships ~ yes
“Chumpionships” or consolation finals?

IMEO — Although this lengthens the season for everyone, not just those in playoffs, my experience has been that most participants who don’t make playoffs are ready to be done and don’t put forth enough effort to make it worth while.
I just love the word Chumpionhips though!!

Q: Playoff Schedule
Choices I suggested - any others?

1 ~ Standard/Shortest Regular Season - 4 teams & 4 weeks [championship games each last 2 weeks: IVE NEVER PLAYED THIS WAY]

2 ~ Most Teams Advancing - 7 teams over 3 weeks. [over 50% make the playoffs, different but neat]
       Three divisions, winner of each division
       Two wild card, from any division just the next two best teams in terms of W/L ratio
       Two top scoring teams in total points (those not already in playoffs).
       Top seed team gets a bye week. Only one team gets a bye week.

3 ~ Longest Regular Season - 4 Teams & 2 Weeks
 ****3a: Division Winners and Wild Card
OR
 ****3b: 2 Division Winners & 2 Top Scoring Teams

The answers to these final questions should outline the basic makeup of the Leagues.

Q: Thoughts on a “SuperBowl-like” event — the four winners go against each other week 17 (adding in their points from week 16) for an ultimate champion?

Finally my two cents ~ if they are worth even that!! lol
I think we need to make sure we are not getting ahead of ourselves.
Individuals have expressed interest. This is very different than having a solid 48 people signed up, paid, & begging us to draft immediately.
I think we can make a plan that will handle up to 48, without creating a situation where we HAVE to have 48. We don’t want to make promises or obligations.
